"Beartown" by Fredrik Backman
Ok, firstly I love Fredrik Backman's writing and I am in awe of his range of writing. This book seemed significantly different and more edgy than his others. It has really tense moments, deals with incredibly difficult themes including rape, toxic masculinity, the power of the pack mentality and the importance of being honest even when the consequences for the individual may not be immediately positive. This book made me smile, hold my breath and cry in equal measure. It has such a range of characters and the scene setting is incredible. I liked the opening and could not anticipate which way the story was going to go. A brilliant story.
I gave it 5 stars out of 5.
