"The Homemade God" by Rachel Joyce

I'd been really looking forward to reading this book and then found myself disappointed. It is a well written story but the characters didn't really elicit any empathy in me. Unfortunately it read like a deeply tragic tale of many people's lives in respect of the themes. I think I had expected the book to be uplifting but for me, it was the opposite unfortunately. 3 stars out of 5. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/219520756-the-homemade-god
